How to stop mail from the Southern Poverty Law Center
SPLC shares your mailing address with other organizations.
If you're on the mailing list for SPLC, chances are you receive a lot of junk mail from them. To make matters worse, their privacy policy explicitly states that they'll share your mailing address with other organizations.
Here's an excerpt from their privacy policy:
The SPLC makes its membership list available to reputable charities and businesses whose information we believe may be of interest to our members. Our ability to share your name with other entities will help build our supporter base. Sharing our list with others is the most cost-efficient way to find new supporters. We hope you agree. The option is yours. If you do not want your name used in this fashion, please let us know.
Given the sheer volume of unsolicited postal mail sent by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and the fact that they are actively distributing your mailing address to other organizations, it's worth taking a few minutes to opt-out.

How to Opt-Out
Luckily, SPLC makes it fairly simple. Head to their contact page and enter your mailing address exactly as written on the mail you receive. Then, in the description field, copy/paste the following:
I would like to opt-out of mailings from SPLC. Please remove my postal address from your mailing list.
I also request that you do not share my personal information with other organizations.
Thank youHit submit and you're all set!
What to expect
You will first receive an automated email confirming that SPLC received your unsubscribe request. Then, you'll receive a more personalized response similar to this:
Just to let you know, your request has been updated. You will no longer receive mail from SPLC. I have made a special notation on your record so that your name will not be exchanged with other organizations. However, if your name is already on lists with other groups, the amount of mail you may receive from them due to our exchange will be limited and will soon end. We have an agreement with organizations that only permits them to mail individuals once. Please allow 4 - 6 weeks for this change to take effect.
And there you have it. SPLC will stop sending you mail and they will stop sharing your address.
